Blu-ray has been picked as the next standard to succeed DVDs - praise Encoria! DVD-R and DVD+R was a walking disaster and cost everyone loads to get drivers (I'm talking about re-writers here) that could do both formats.
The next generation of discs will be able to hold 50Gb, so the technology is catching up on hard drives fast.
It also makes over anyone over 18 feel old as many of remember a time when we could only get 100 mb on a hard drive, now you can get 500 times that on one disc, what is the world coming to?
Of course the best feature is that many of us will actually now be able to backup our music collections ;).
