Yahoo have launched a new service they call Music Unlimited - for fee of $6.99 per month (or $4.99 if you pay annually) you get access to over one million songs. By access, you can listen to them and transfer them to compatible devices.
However the service does not support AAC encoding which is what the iPod uses so none of the songs are compatible with iPods and everyone has an iPod (well not everyone, I placed an order for an iRiver a few hours ago). Instead it uses Janus, Microsoft's digital rights management technology.
You can also burn tracks for $0.79 each which is cheaper than most of the competition although nothing to get hugely excited about.
From what we gather it is integrated with Yahoo Music's commercial free radio stations too. That is a different story though, by story I mean question and the actual question is when is LaunchCast Plus going to be available to non-BT Internet users in the UK.
For more information on Music Unlimited, check out the website.
